Program Description

Event Details

Jennifer Redell, Bat biologist and Cave & mine specialist with the WI DNR’s Bat Program, will have you falling for bats just in time for Halloween.  We’ll explore how bats are amazing superheroes of the night.  Take a fascinating look at Wisconsin’s bats as we explore the adaptive resiliency of local bats as they fight a killer fungus.  Learn how scientists study bats and how work conducted in Wisconsin is being used to help bats across the nation.  This event is being held to celebrate International Bat Week!

Bat Week is an international, annual celebration designed to raise awareness about the need for bat conservation. Bats are amazing creatures that are vital to the health of our natural world and economy. Although we may not always see them, bats are hard at work all around the world each night - eating tons of insects, pollinating flowers, and spreading seeds that grow new plants and trees.

THERE WILL NOT BE LIVE ANIMALS AT THIS PROGRAM.

This program is in collaboration with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
